School Feeding Program
Feeding programs can be thought of as social safety nets that are not without health benefit only, but also having educational benefit as well.

This is so because not only do meals provide nourishment for the body, but for children, especially those of ours, meals provide strong incentive for parents to send them to school and keep them there – thus resulting in steady and increased enrollment rates.  From the children’s own perspective, food helps them focus on their studies instead of their bellies.

Your donations will allow us to improve the current feeding program by providing more and better nutritious meals.

Structural Building Repair Program

In order to effectively deliver educational programs and services for teachers and students, it is important to have educationally adequate facilities.  Our school building is a single-family four bed rooms dwelling built in 1960 and converted into the school in 2003, a year after the end of the Liberian civil war.  The building has suffered structural damage over the years and therefore in need of repairs.

Work needs to be done to the roof, the ceiling, the outside and inside walls, and the floors.  Some of the windows and doors are still out and need replacement.  Our long range goal calls for expansion in order to accommodate the growing enrollment.

Your financial assistance will enable us to restore the building to its pre-war conditions - a structurally sound facility that would function efficiently.

Toilet Facilities Renovation

Proper sanitation is no doubt crucial to sustaining good health.  Unfortunately we lacked adequate toilet facilities at the school, which exposes our children to poor sanitation and put them at great risk of spreading diarrhea and other diseases.

Your financial help will enable us to prevent this problem.  With adequate funding, our pupils can have access to basic sanitation.  We will be able to renovate our existing facility - which has been in a state of disrepair for some time now, construct a new one, and provide a basin with water and soaps for students to wash their hands before returning to classes.

School Furniture Program
Some of our children sit on their classroom floors because of lack of chairs.  A large number of them carry their chairs on their heads daily from home to school, and then back to their homes at the end of the school day – some walking close to a mile.

You can help us relief the burden of chairs toting these children are enduring.  We have 225 desks and chairs in storage that could be placed in their classrooms only if we have the fund to do so.  These much needed items need to be transported from our storage location in Johnson City, Tennessee to Liberia, West Africa.

We solicit your help with the shipment.   Your donation will make all the difference – from sitting on hard concrete floor to sitting in comfortable chairs with desks!

School Supplies Program
Many of our pupils’ parents can not afford to purchase basic school supplies for them.   As the result they come to school without anything to write on neither to write with.  BEST, Inc. occasionally provides school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, erasers and crayons.

We need help with these supplies in order to provide them to the children on a regular basis.  To help with this project, you can support it financially or donate the supplies.  Items needed are notebooks, pencils, erasers, crayons, binders, rulers, calculators, backpacks, etc.
